Surakarta, May 22, 2025 — Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) officially held a Welcoming Ceremony for three students from Mahidol University, Thailand, who will participate in a two-week student exchange program at the Physiotherapy Study Program.
This program is part of UMS’s ongoing effort to strengthen international academic collaboration and promote cross-cultural exchange. During their time at UMS, the students will take part in a variety of activities including academic lectures, clinical physiotherapy practice, and local cultural experiences, all designed to broaden their knowledge and global perspective.
The welcoming ceremony, held on May 22, 2025, was a warm and intimate gathering attended by lecturers from the Faculty of Health Sciences and Sri Indra Kurnia, M.P.H., Head of Student Mobility & Hospitality at the Office of Collaboration and International Affairs (BKUI) UMS.
In her remarks, Sri Indra emphasized the importance of this student exchange as a step toward deepening international cooperation and fostering cultural understanding on campus.
“We are truly happy to welcome students from Mahidol University. We hope this program will not only enrich their academic experience but also help build meaningful cultural connections and global friendships,” she said.
UMS also hopes that the students will gain valuable academic and non-academic experiences throughout the program. Interaction with faculty members, engagement with local students, and participation in cultural activities are expected to provide fresh insights and expand their worldview during their stay in Indonesia.
