Collaboration Visit and Comparative Study of Universitas Muhammadiyah Tasikmalaya (UMTAS) to Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) Regarding the MBKM Program and Management of Higher Education Cooperation Fields
Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) welcomed a delegation from Universitas Muhammadiyah Tasikmalaya (UMTAS) for a collaboration visit and comparative study focused on the Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program and the management of higher education cooperation fields. The event took place in the Meeting Room of the Office of Collaboration and International Affairs (BKUI) at UMS on Friday, September 06, 2024.
The primary objective of this visit was to exchange insights and best practices related to teaching management strategies, and curriculum development, and to explore innovative and effective approaches to managing academic cooperation between higher education institutions. These practices cover a range of other important aspects, including organizational structure, Work Plan, management of international student affairs, mobility and hospitality services, website and portal management for international offices, as well as internal and external communication, and collaboration file management.
During the meeting, UMS presented its achievements in managing the international program and students. UMS also shared a discussion on how to foster strategic partnerships with both domestic and international institutions. UMTAS delegations were also given an overview of UMS’s initiatives in expanding cooperation in various academic and research fields.
The event also featured with Learning Innovation Bureau (BIP) of UMS. The sessions covered topics such as the integration of curriculum in teaching, the role of study programs in improving educational quality, the recognition program for learning achievements the importance of aligning teaching outcomes with global standards. Special emphasis was placed on developing sustainable cooperation frameworks that enable the exchange of knowledge, research collaboration, and joint academic programs between institutions.
The event concluded with a fruitful discussion on future collaboration opportunities, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with the rapidly evolving educational landscape. This comparative study serves as a significant step towards enhancing the quality of higher education and fostering a culture of collaboration across institutions, both locally and globally.
