On Wednesday, October 2, 2024, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) held a key meeting with the University of Science and Technology Yemen (USTY) to explore potential academic collaborations. The discussion aimed to build stronger ties between the two institutions, focusing on student exchanges, research cooperation, and joint academic programs.
UMS emphasized its status as one of the largest Muhammadiyah universities in Indonesia, recognized for its integrity and academic excellence. UMS highlighted its eagerness to expand global partnerships, particularly with renowned institutions like USTY.
USTY shared that it is one of the largest universities in Yemen, specializing in Information Technology, and offering a broad range of programs, including Medicine, Technology, Architecture, and Humanities. “We are proud to be the first university in Yemen, ranked first in the country. Our strong connections with companies and international universities motivate us to collaborate with UMS.”
USTY also mentioned its operation of over 2,400 schools and expressed keen interest in working closely with UMS on student and faculty exchanges, as well as collaborative research.
Both institutions are excited to formalize the partnership, which will provide new academic opportunities for students and faculty from both sides.
