Surakarta, February 1, 2025 – On Saturday, February 1, 2025, the Office of Collaboration & International Affairs (BKUI) and the ODS of Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) participated in the SMALSA EDU EXPO 2025, an education exhibition organized by SMA Al Islam 1 Surakarta. The event gathered various universities from different regions, providing a platform for students to explore higher education opportunities.

The SMALSA EDU EXPO 2025 was an exciting opportunity for UMS to engage with prospective students and introduce its wide range of academic programs. One of the key highlights at the UMS booth was the promotion of the International Class, a special program that provides students with the opportunity to engage in a global learning environment, network with peers and professionals from around the world, and become part of an international community.

The International Class at UMS is designed to broaden students’ global perspectives by integrating international education standards, encouraging intercultural communication, and facilitating academic collaborations with universities worldwide. This program focuses not only on academic excellence but also on preparing students to thrive in an interconnected and competitive world.

“This exhibition gives us the opportunity to introduce the unique opportunities offered by UMS, particularly the International Class, which is an essential part of our global education initiative. We hope to inspire and attract students who are eager to broaden their horizons and pursue an education that is not only of high quality but also globally relevant,” said Wijianto, M.Eng.Sc., Head of the International Programs Division.

UMS’s participation in the event showcases the university’s commitment to providing access to high-quality education that equips students with the knowledge, skills, and experiences needed to succeed in an increasingly interconnected world.

Wijianto, M.Eng.Sc., added, “We are very grateful to SMA Al Islam 1 Surakarta for organizing this incredible event, which gave us the opportunity to connect directly with prospective students and their families. We look forward to continuing to build partnerships with secondary schools and other academic institutions to create more pathways for students to join the UMS family and take advantage of the various opportunities we offer.”

Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta remains committed to building stronger collaborations with other educational institutions and opening more opportunities for students who wish to make a positive impact in the world. UMS continues to focus on providing a comprehensive educational experience that goes beyond the classroom, preparing students to become leaders, innovators, and global citizens.
