Comparative Study Visit “Improving Internationalization Activities” of Universitas Semarang to Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta

The Office of Cooperation and International Affairs (BKUI) at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) hosted a collaboration visit from Universitas Semarang on Monday, September 30, 2024. The visit, held at the BKUI UMS Meeting Room, was part of an initiative to enhance internationalization activities between the two institutions.

The delegation from Universitas Semarang, consisting of senior officials and international office staff, was warmly welcomed by the UMS team. The agenda focused on sharing best practices, exploring collaborative opportunities, and discussing strategies to further improve internationalization efforts in higher education.
UMS, known for its proactive approach to global engagement, showcased its ongoing international programs, including partnerships with universities abroad, student and faculty exchange initiatives, and efforts to increase international student enrollment. The BKUI team at UMS emphasized the importance of institutional collaboration in fostering a more globally oriented academic environment.

The participants from both universities engaged in a productive dialogue, exchanging ideas on how to strengthen international networks, improve global academic competitiveness, and enhance the student experience through cross-border educational opportunities.

Representatives from Universitas Semarang expressed their appreciation for UMS’s hospitality and valuable insights. Both institutions agreed to follow up on the discussions with potential joint projects that could bolster their respective internationalization agendas.
